About the Book

The book dates back to 1890, when its author, Dr. Burnett, discovered the Bacillinum nosode. Before proclaiming his findings to the then medical world, the author had himself taken the nosode as a short drug proving and then used it in his daily practice to treat cases of infectious tuberculosis of various types. The book is the result of this hard work; it is basically the presentation or thesis of the author’s findings with respect to the nosode. The book records 54 cases of consumption treated by the author with the nosode with favorable results. In the second edition, he has included additional notes on the subject, further elaborating his experiences with the nosode.
The ultimate handbook of symptomatology with special emphasis on mental symptoms. The author makes good use of existing literature to present the relevant data in the right place.

About the Author

Gunavante S.M.

Born in a middle class family in North Kanara in 1915, he had his schooling in Honavar. He used to top the class in school and in the matriculation examination held in 1933, in the then Bombay State, he was among the first 100. He could not pursue his studies owing to pecuniary difficulties and took up a job in the Oriental Life Insurance Co. in 1935. By dint of sincere devotion to duty he rose, from humble beginning to the position of Assistant Secretary (Development) in the L.I.C., before he retired in January 1975. During the last few years in service, as he held a responsible position in the Development Dept., concerned with the training of Life Insurance agents, Mr. Gunavante took active part in two training seminars and wrote a number of booklets for training the agents in their sales and servicing work. He was also commissioned to write a textbook on ""Marketing"" for fellowship students of the Federation of Insurance Institutes.
