THE DRUG POTENTIAL

‘THE THEORY OF POTENTIALS’ is of the fundamental importance in the ‘THEORY OF ATTRACTION’ in the physical science,
under which the greater part of the modern progress in invention has been made.
|
HAHNEMANN forwarded his theory of potentiation long before the theory of potential was announced.
|
It was pointed out even during Hahnemann’s life time that his experiments and theory based upon opened the way for an
entirely new consideration of the subject of DYNAMISATION and CONSTRUCTIONOF MATTER.
|
The standard dictionary for the clear and concise concept said it especially of ENERGY.
|
THE ENERGY IS THE CAPACITY TO DO WORK
|
The energy has two principal forms:
|
• THE POTENTIAL ENERGY
• THE KINETIC ENERGY
|
Potential energy: Energy stored by matter due to its position (energy in a crud drug substance).
Kinetic energy: Energy associated with matter in motion.
|
THE POTENTIAL ENERGY IS CONVERTED INTOKINETIC ENERGY.
|
By discovering the drug potential Hahnemann opened the way for the formulation of a dynamic theory of how
homoeopathic medicine act?
As potentials exist by the virtue of position and not to motion especially of energy, it determines the force by the difference
of its value at neighboring points.
It is something like the point in a space at which there exists a condition of attraction or repulsion because of the difference of
the value of intensity and direction of the force at the neighboring points
|
THIS VARIATION FROM ONE POINT TO ANOTHER IS POTENTIAL.
|
The law being that a material body always tends to move in the direction of increasing potential
and a positive electrical charge in that of decreasing potential.
Where material body moves towards increasing potential is called GRAVITATIONAL POTENTIAL- the
potential due to earth’s attraction, it determines level, this governs the flow of water.
|
Where a positive electrical charge moves in that of decreasing potential, is called ELECTRICAL POTENTIAL –determines the
flow of electricity, has been compared to temperature, which similarly governs the flow of heat.
To this may now perhaps be added that THE DRUG POTENTIAL – due to the attraction of living organism determines the direction
and kind of action of drug prescribed or taken.
We know that a peculiar affinity or attraction exists between a sick organism and the drug this is capable of producing symptoms
in a healthy organism similar to those of sickness.
|
The symptomatically similar medicine as a curative is therefore also a ‘phase of the theory of attraction’ and the theory of
potential is another phase.
The action of a drug upon a living organism is analogous to the action of electricity.
The dose according to its size and quantity may be ‘mass’ or it may be ‘ion’ – an infinitesimal dynamic quantity comparable to
‘electrical charge’- that forms the phase of the theory of potential.
As we all know potential determines the intensity & direction of the force.
A dose of medicine placed on tongue, in contact with the sentient nerves of the organism from which it is distributed
throughout the entire nervous system.
Now this attraction and repulsion of theory of potential depends upon drug’s physical condition i.e. crud form or potentised,
and the condition of the organism in which it acts i.e. healthy or sick.
The knowledge that drugs act upon the living organism and that the organism react in a different manner to each drug, led to
the recognition of the specific character of the drug action and to the DOCTRIN OF THE ELECTIVE AFFINITY- that each drug has a
specific or peculiar relation to or affinity for the living organism, differing from the action of every other drug.
|
WHAT DEVELOPS THIS AFFINITY?

Homoeopathic Remedies in decreasing order of indications

-
We know there is OCTATE RULE i.e. set of eight, which helps in explaining why atoms react in predictable ways.
-
Every atom in its orbit wants eight electrons to get stable.
-
Thus one that has eight electrons is positively charged hence been said positive electrical charge.
-
So one who has 8+ will give one electron to one who is 8- ,what makes electrical potential to
move in the direction of decreasing potential from ‘+’ to ‘-
Chemical bonds are of three types- Ionic Bond, Covalent Bond, and Hydrogen Bond.
-
Ionic bonds are found in the body fluids
-
Covalent Bond shares two or more than two atoms.
-
Hydrogen Bond does not share electron and are weak, they establish important link between two molecules like protein or nucleic acid.
|
The presence of various types of ionic channels in the plasma membrane of neurons and muscle fibers
gives these cells their property of electrical excitability.
Within the organism stored energy i.e. potential energy is associated with the electron found within biomolecules.
When electrons are locked into chemical bonds, there is a certain amount of energy associated with those electrons;
this is the chemically available energy that exists within e.g. the food you eat.
There are numbers of formulas of molecules representing chemical bonds like carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids.
When a chemical reaction occurs, what is happening is the making or breaking of chemical bonds.
Chemical bonds consist of electrons that are shared more or less between the nuclei of the bonded atoms.
The degree of sharing, impacts on the energy associated with a chemical bond and living things store most of their energy within chemical bonds.
An important part of understanding life is understanding how energy is stored and moved from molecule to molecule.
Quantum mechanics is the study of discrete storage of energy by electrons.
This is how there exists a point of attraction or repulsion because of the difference of values of the intensity and the
direction of the force at the neighboring point to another – The Potential.
